The short answer
If your fingers are sore or you want a soft, warm tone: classical. If you want to play pop, folk, worship, or sing-alongs: acoustic. If you love rock and will invest in an amp: electric.
Acoustic (steel-string)
- Louder, brighter, more modern
- Narrower neck — easier for small hands
- Steel strings feel harder at first (fingers adjust in 2–4 weeks)
- Our models: BabySage BS001, SAG001, SAG002
Classical (nylon-string)
- Warmer, softer tone
- Wider neck — slightly harder for small hands but easier on fingers
- Nylon strings are gentle — no callus pain
- Our model: SCG001
Electric
- Loudest and most versatile — but needs amp, cable, gear
- Thin strings, easiest to press
- Great for rock, blues, funk, worship lead
- Coming soon to SageGuitar
Our general recommendation
Most first-timers should start acoustic. If finger pain is a real worry, start classical. You can always switch later.
