BabySage 36" Review — Who It Is Actually For

Beginner Guide Apr 15, 2026 For Beginner

An honest look at our most popular 3/4 size guitar. Spec, feel, and the types of players it fits best.

The short version

If you are buying for a kid between 9–13, a petite adult, or someone who travels, the BabySage 36" is usually the right answer. It sits between "toy" cheap guitars and intimidating full-size ones.

What's inside

  • Top: Solid spruce — this is the feature at this price. Solid tops "open up" over months of playing, the sound gets richer.
  • Back & sides: Sapele laminate — warm midrange, durable in Singapore humidity.
  • Fingerboard: Rosewood — smooth, classic.
  • Tuners: Closed-gear with black hardware — stays in tune better than open gear.

Two colour options — same guitar

BS001 Natural — light spruce top, no tint. Clean, honest look.
BS001 Vintage — warmer brown finish, aged look. More "character" in photos.

Spec is identical. Pick what you like visually.

Who should NOT buy this

  • Adults with long fingers or big hands — the 36" scale will feel cramped. Go SAG002 or SAG001.
  • Kids under 8 — still too big for most. Look at 1/2 size (34") instead (on request).
  • Buyers who want to gig / record — the smaller body is quieter. Great for practice, not stage.

Starter bundle pricing

BS001 bundle (guitar + gig bag + tuner + picks + spare strings): S$165 standard, S$195 during promo windows. Individual: S$175 guitar + ~S$45 accessories = S$220. Bundle saves you S$55.

What to do after buying

  1. Unbox and wipe the body with a dry cloth.
  2. Clip on the tuner. Tune E-A-D-G-B-E from thickest to thinnest.
  3. Watch our first chord video — Em, 60 seconds.
